How are you feeling?

“I’m fine.”

“I’m good.”

“Not bad.”

These are the answers we have become so accustomed to hearing. They have become almost automatic responses, words we say without really pausing to think about how we actually feel.

So let me ask you again.

How are you really feeling?

Behind the courage, strength, and mask you may be wearing. How are you truly feeling?

One thing we must all agree on is that life could sometimes feel heavy and things may not always flow as expected. It could sometimes even be difficult to plan something as simple as dinner tomorrow as we can’t always guarantee what we would be feeling on a certain day.

We are all entitled to our feelings.

We should feel free to express them without judgment, and we deserve to have them acknowledged rather than dismissed.

During times of uncertainty, our routines can shift dramatically. Our nervous system may feel unsettled, almost as if we are experiencing hundreds of emotions throughout the day.

You might wake up in the morning and tell yourself: “Today will be a good day. I refuse to think negatively.” Then a few hours later you hear something that upsets you and suddenly anxious thoughts begin to creep in.

When things calm down, you start to feel okay again. But later, as you sit quietly alone, your mind begins to wander. Your thoughts slip into a maze of unease, until a phone call interrupts those thoughts or someone makes you laugh, and suddenly you feel lighter once more.

This emotional back-and-forth can feel like a rollercoaster.

With a lot happening in the world around us, many of us may feel lost. Our routines may be disrupted, and we may struggle to maintain habits that once supported our wellbeing, whether it is exercise, sleep or simply feeling balanced.

This is why it becomes so important to turn inward.

To check in with ourselves.

To ask honestly: How am I really feeling?

And then to validate that feeling, without judgment while trying to find ways to create some sense of normalcy.

So I ask you again.

How are you really feeling?

Deep down inside.

If I am honest with myself, I would say that lately I feel like I am experiencing four seasons in a single day.

Moments of calm.

Moments of uncertainty.

Moments of hope.

Moments of fear.

And that is okay.

At The Method Studio, our Classical Pilates, Ashtanga Yoga and Health Coaching sessions are here to support you during challenging times. Together we can work on rebuilding structure, establishing routines, and finding ways to care for both your physical and mental wellbeing.

Because nurturing a healthy mind and body can help us navigate the challenges we face and remind us that we are capable of feeling okay again.

If I were to be a part of a fairy tale where I am born into this world with no qualities whatsoever, but I do get to pick one quality to have for the rest of my life, something that came naturally and never faded, I’d pick discipline over and over again.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Why discipline? Why not patience, being hardworking, or honesty?”

Because here’s the thing, discipline is what helps build all of those other traits. It’s the glue that holds them together. And it’s not easy. In fact, discipline might be one of the hardest things to develop. It’s that inner battle we all face when your mind tells you to skip the workout, sleep in, or give up, but something stronger inside you says, “Nope, keep going.”

And that “keep going” voice? That’s discipline.

Discipline isn’t something you wake up with one day. It takes time, practice and a lot of showing up even when you don’t feel like it. But once you start to build it, it changes everything. It teaches you how to manage your time better. It helps you stay patient. It makes you honest with yourself. It gives you direction, focus, confidence because you’re proving to yourself, day by day, that you can stick to something. And when that happens? You start to trust yourself more. You grow. You evolve. You become someone who shows up, not just for workouts, but for life.

So, how do you actually build discipline? For me, the answer is simple: Classical Pilates and Ashtanga Yoga.

With Classical Pilates, it’s all about repetition. You follow the method, the same sequence, the same structure, the same repertoire. You don’t steer towards different routes, you commit. And that repetition? It does more than tone your body. It trains your mind to focus, to build internal structure and resilience.

Ashtanga Yoga is the same. You get on your mat. You follow the same flow. Day in, day out. Even when it’s hard. Even when you’re tired. And every time you finish, you feel stronger not just physically, but mentally.

These practices don’t just teach discipline, they are discipline. And the more you do them, the more that discipline starts to show up in other areas of your life too.

So if you’re ready to start building the kind of consistency that actually changes your life, come join us at The Method. Whether it’s a Classical Pilates class or an Ashtanga Yoga class, book into one of our classes and watch as discipline starts to flourish within you.

When it comes to fitness, I believe people tend to fall into three groups: those who are consistently active, those who start strong but lose momentum, and those who rarely engage in regular exercise. I often find myself wondering why someone would choose not to move their body, especially when the benefits are so tangible, that unbeatable post-workout high, sharper mental clarity and increased energy. With exercise being more accessible than ever from a brisk walk or a calming yoga flow to a short gym session, it’s surprising how many people remain inactive.

So, I ask: why don’t you work out?

The answer I hear most often is, “I just don’t have the time.”

But let’s talk about time for a moment. Time is a curious thing, it’s unclear whether it’s something we own, receive or constantly chase. The more I reflect on it, the more I believe that time is a kind of illusion, a luxury we feel we never quite have enough of. Whether it’s the hours we spend working toward a deadline or the minutes we try to squeeze from a day off, time always feels like it’s slipping through our fingers.

But here’s the truth: we do make time, just not always for the things that matter most. Think about it. Have you ever heard someone say, “I don’t have time to brush my teeth” or “I didn’t have time to get dressed”? Of course not. These are non-negotiable parts of our daily routine. We don’t question them and we don’t track the minutes. We just do them.
So, why isn’t exercise the same? Why do we treat it like an optional extra, rather than a fundamental part of our self-care?

What if movement became as ingrained as brushing your teeth, a daily ritual we simply do, without assigning a time value to it? What if it became part of your rhythm, your identity, your nature?

When exercise is part of your lifestyle, it’s no longer something you need to find time for, it’s something you just make space for, effortlessly. The benefits are undeniable. When something serves your body, mind and overall well-being in such a powerful way, it deserves to be prioritized just like any other essential habit.

At The Method, we understand the pressures of modern schedules, which is why we offer a variety of classes ranging from 50 to 90 minutes designed to fit into even the busiest day. Book a class, step into your practice and discover that you do have the time to work out. You just need to grow into a daily habit.

In an era where movement has become commercialized, fast-paced, and trend-driven, Classical Pilates sits proudly in a different category. It is precise, disciplined, lineage-based and yes, often priced higher than other Pilates classes.

But there is a reason for that. Several, in fact.

To begin, Classical Pilates demands a level of teacher training that is exceptionally rare in the fitness industry. Instructors complete 600 to 900+ hours of rigorous education, mentorship, practice teaching, anatomy study, exams, and hands-on apprenticeship. This is not a weekend certification or a quick online course. It is a deep, structured training designed to preserve Joseph Pilates’ original work with precision and integrity. When you walk into a classical class, you are guided by someone who has invested years into mastering the method, someone who understands your body, your alignment, and how to safely progress your practice through a system, not a sequence of random exercises. You are paying for unmatched expertise, not just movement.

The equipment also plays a major role in why Classical Pilates carries a higher cost. Authentic apparatus from brands like Gratz, Contrology, and Legacy are handcrafted, built in small batches, and made to Joseph Pilates’ exact specifications. They are not mass-produced reformers found in typical gyms or commercial studios. Every piece, from the Reformer to the Wunda Chair, Cadillac, High Chair, and Barrels, is engineered for precision and long-term durability. Outfitting a true classical studio requires significant investment, far beyond a single reformer-based setup. When you train on authentic apparatus, you feel the difference immediately: the resistance, the springs, the carriage weight, the stability. Everything supports proper technique and deeper results.

Classical Pilates is also the complete system, not just one machine. Clients move through an entire ecosystem of apparatus designed to strengthen the body from every angle. This means the studio must invest in multiple pieces per client, not just one reformer for everyone. The method is holistic and interconnected, and maintaining this full environment comes at a premium.

Another reason for the higher cost is the nature of the class experience. Classical Pilates prioritizes quality over quantity, meaning class sizes are intentionally small. Teachers must be able to see every body, correct alignment, adjust the work, and guide clients individually even in a group setting. This level of attention is impossible in large, high-volume classes, which is why classical studios refuse to compromise on capacity. Fewer people per class naturally increases the cost, but it dramatically enhances the results and the safety of the practice.

Finally, Classical Pilates offers something that cannot be found in trend-based fitness: long-term transformation. The method doesn’t chase the burn, the sweat, or the aesthetic trends of the moment. Instead, it strengthens the body from the inside out, improving posture, breath, mobility, control, and overall functionality. Clients feel supported, not exhausted; aligned, not overstimulated; connected, not depleted. When you pay for Classical Pilates, you are investing in a method that delivers lasting, meaningful change, not a quick workout that fades the moment you leave the studio.

In truth, Classical Pilates is more expensive because it is more intentional, more educated, more specialized, and more complete. It requires highly trained instructors, handcrafted apparatus, small class sizes, thoughtful structure, and unwavering dedication to quality. At studios like The Method, the goal is not to follow trends but to preserve a lineage, a discipline that has stood the test of time because it works.

Classical Pilates is not just a class. It is a method, an investment, and a standard of excellence. And for those who experience it, it is worth every dirham.

It all began with words that shattered my reality: “I’m so sorry to tell you this, but it seems like you have Type 1 diabetes, and your life will never be the same.” From that moment, everything around me blurred. My doctor’s voice faded into a hum of medical jargon I couldn’t process. I left the hospital with a bag full of leaflets, medications, and diabetic tools, ones that I didn’t know how to use, for a life I didn’t yet know how to live.

I sat in my car, overwhelmed and numb. And instinctively, I reached for my phone and messaged my yoga instructor. Can we meet now? Thirty minutes later, I was on my mat, moving through sun salutations. With every breath and every vinyasa, my chaotic thoughts softened. The noise in my head began to quiet. My body, which felt foreign just hours earlier, started to feel like home again. Movement, breath, presence; these were my anchors that helped ground me.

Halfway through the session, a realization settled in. During the months of feeling unwell and not understanding what was happening in my body, the only time I felt like myself, healthy, strong and vibrant was when I was moving. Exercise wasn’t just physical relief. It was my safe space. My clarity.

As I lay in Shavasana at the end of the session, a calm washed over me. For the first time that day, I was able to truly hear what my body was saying. I unlocked my phone, not to escape, but to learn. To understand. To face this new chapter with open eyes and a grounded spirit. That day, I didn’t just begin to accept my diagnosis; I reclaimed my power through movement. It became crystal clear to me: in a world full of chaos, it is movement that brings stillness. Breath that brings clarity. And a deep connection between mind and body that allows us not just to cope, but to evolve.

This is why I move. Movement is not only a method of exercising, it is a method to ground ourselves, to connect within, to be able to observe, soothe the mind and then react in a calm manner.

Far too often, things are introduced to the world ahead of their time or perhaps it’s more accurate to say, they’re not fully appreciated until they’re gone. Take the ocean, for example. How many people live by the beach yet rarely dip their toes in the water? It’s only after they’ve moved away that they begin to long for it.

The same is true for health. We rarely pause to appreciate our energy, our ability to simply breathe with ease until we fall ill and are suddenly reminded of what we took for granted. The human mind is curious in this way, it often fails to recognize the value of something until it’s lost.

Joseph Pilates was no exception. During his lifetime, he introduced a revolutionary method of movement and mind-body control he called “Contrology,” which we now know as Pilates. Yet, his vision wasn’t widely understood or embraced at the time. It wasn’t until years after his passing that the world began to realize the depth and brilliance of what he created. Like many visionaries, he was ahead of his time. And now, the world is finally catching up.

But in catching up, something else happened. Pilates became a trend. In response to modern demands, the method was reshaped and modified giving rise to what we now see across our screens, contemporary Pilates.

Contemporary Pilates borrows from the original, but it’s been adapted to suit today’s fast-paced, aesthetics-driven world. It’s flexible, fluid and designed to meet popular demand. But what many don’t realize is this: classical Pilates still exists. Unchanged. Uncompromised. Undiluted. It is Contrology. It follows Joseph’s exact sequence. His repertoire. His philosophy. He may have been 40 years too early, but his method remains, waiting for those ready to return to the roots.

While both contemporary and classical pilates are effective ways to training the mind-body connection, people tend to only know pilates for its contemporary way of teaching and disregarding classical pilates due to its lack in availability. However, at The Method we offer true classical pilates taught exactly as Joseph Pilates intended. If you’re curious about the difference or want to experience how the method was truly designed, book into one of our Classical Pilates classes and discover the roots of contrology yourself.
