What is The Method?
The Method is a space that offers classical pilates, ashtanga yoga, and yin yoga in both a group class and a private class. The Method also offers health coaching. All services offered at The Method are rooted in their original, authentic ways of teaching.
I have never worked out before, am I still welcome?
Yes, The Method has something to offer for everyone regardless of your fitness background and level. Introductory packs are offered for all classes to ensure that you can take part of all group classes feeling confident and ready.
How can I book a class?
Please look into our ‘book a class’ page on the main menu, or download the mindbody app, and you can always contact us via WhatsApp or phone calls.
When should I arrive at the studio before a class?
Please ensure to arrive at the studio at least 5 minutes before class as all our classes are punctual and start on time.
What happens if I have to cancel a class?
Please do ensure to cancel your class via WhatsApp, the website, or the Mindbodyapp 24 hours before class if you purchased the Entry classes, 12 hours before if you purchased the Flow classes, and 8 hours before if you purchased the Deep classes.
Is there any car parking area nearby?
Yes, upon entering Al Bateen Park Plaza, there is a dedicated parking area for The Method Studio. After parking, just take the steps up, continue walking straight, and we’ll be there welcoming you. In case the car park is full, you can find more spaces at Lavazza cafe on the other side of the road.
How come The Method’s prices are higher than other yoga and pilates studios?
At The Method we promise to offer a luxurious service with one of the best customer services. We pay attention to detail and make sure that your experience from entering the studio until leaving will be one that is met with the utmost care and ease.

YOGA FAQ:

What are the benefits of Ashtanga Yoga?
There are so many mental and physical benefits of practicing yoga. Yoga can reduce stress and control anxiety. A regular practice can help with increased muscular strength and flexibility, improved immune system, and calming the nervous system.
What are the benefits of Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga offers therapeutic effects that can help you find balance, reduce stress and improve your overall well-being. By holding and relaxing into deep, passive stretches for extended periods, Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues in the body, promoting relaxation and enhancing flexibility. This slow-paced practice also encourages a meditative state, allowing you to calm your mind and release tension.
I have never practiced Ashtanga or Yin yoga. Are there classes for beginners?
No prior yoga experience is needed. Complete beginners are welcome. For Yin Yoga, all classes cater to all levels. For Ashtanga, please look for our intro pack.
How should we breathe during yoga asana practice?
Breathing should be through the nose only, never hold your breath, and breathe normally all the time.
What should I wear to practice yoga?
Wear loose, non-constricting clothing made of natural fibers during the practice.
Are there any rules and regulations regarding food before starting yoga practice?
To get the best result, practice should be done on an empty stomach. One should not practice yoga immediately after having food and should ideally give a 3 hour gap after a meal for the practice.
Who can practice Ashtanga or Yin Yoga?
It can be practiced by all at any age.

PILATES FAQ

Is Pilates for me?
Pilates is good for everyone, from young to old, men to women, and beginners to athletes. It can be gentle if needed, or the hardest workout you will ever do. Pilates is all about a strong middle (core) and a two-way stretch from it. With Pilates, you will gain a stronger core, a healthier body and ease of movement so that you can live a healthy, active life.
What can I gain from doing Pilates?
Pilates is more than a workout. As a form of corrective exercise, Pilates is different from any other physical exercise you have done before. It will not only give you a strong workout that strengthens and stretches you, but it will also help build symmetry in your body. As pain and discomfort often come from imbalances, doing the exercises correctly and regularly will help the body to repair itself. Joseph Pilates firmly believed that movement heals the body and returns it to life.
I have tried Pilates before, how is THE METHOD different from the other studios?
THE METHOD teaches only authentic Pilates, using the best Legacy equipment built from the original specifications of Joseph Pilates. Although Pilates has gained popularity in recent years and is now offered in many places, original Pilates is still not readily available. Classical Pilates is a very specific form of exercise that should be done privately or in small groups in a fully equipped studio. It was never meant to be a group exercise class. To gain the incredible results that the method offers, the exercises must be performed with extreme precision under the keen eye of an experienced teacher.
How often should I do Pilates?
We recommend three times a week as ideal, combining private classes with a group mat and reformer. As you learn the mat routine, you can do it at home as Joseph Pilates intended.
How can I get started?
You need to book your Introductory Pilates package and we will take it from there. Our instructors will make sure that you will find the best solution based on your goals, budget and timings.
Conditions for Pregnant Participants:
To ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby, participants who are pregnant must have prior Pilates experience and medical clearance from their doctor before joining our classes. This requirement helps ensure that you are familiar with the basic movements, terminology, and adjustments, which will be important for adapting exercises to suit your changing body.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing. For your safety and hygiene, we recommend wearing socks in the studio (you can purchase these in the studio).

What is health coaching?
Health coaching is usually one-to-one sessions between you and a health coach where you discuss your health, set goals, and implement them to improve your health and lifestyle.
I have recently been diagnosed with a chronic condition. How can you help me?
Our health coaching services will help you better understand the chronic condition you’ve been diagnosed with, along with providing natural remedies and lifestyle changes that can be made to better manage your health condition.
I am a healthy individual. How can I benefit from health coaching?
Health coaching helps everyone, regardless of how healthy you are. It can help look into other ways to further improve your health, and it could also be used as a tool of motivation and accountability.
I am a mother looking to improve the health of my children. Is it possible for me to book in for health coaching to discuss my children’s health?
Yes, health coaching is a way for mothers to be further educated about their children’s health and to look for new ways to further improve their well-being.
If I take up health coaching sessions, how long will it take for me to see a difference in my health?

It all depends on certain health conditions, but in implementing any new habits, it usually takes 21 days to see some sort of difference.
